I hope you've had a great week. As many of you know from past posts, this year we put in an organic garden.
I've been working hard around here lately harvesting the food we have been growing this year. This includes putting some of the harvest away for the winter... and it is a lot of work let me tell you!
On top of that, my mom who passed away this past February would have had her birthday on September 4th. So with that loss still being so fresh and all the chores that have to get done outside before the colder and wetter weather arrives, I have not been able to get as many posts to you as I wanted.
No worries though, I'm slowly but surely getting myself back in the right rotation.
I've had many questions recently about what changes to skin care routine's need to be made with the colder weather on its way. I will talk about these today and also make a few recommendations on what to do.
Fall weather, any season change really, has a great impact on your skin's health and how it behaves. Here are four points to remember to take care of your skin this fall.
1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
The very first thing you need to remember as the air changes over to a drier and cooler state is to make sure you hydrate your skin. Since Fall weather can cause more dryness, natural moisturizers and serums are the order of the day.
Make sure though that you use those products that do not contain mineral oils or lanolin. These ingredients can block pores causing more problems and do not moisturize as well as natural ingredients.
2. Oily Skin Needs Hydration As Well
Next, it should come as no surprise that oily skin needs additional moisture as well during this time of the year. Extra oiliness can be caused by the over dryness created by the changes in the environment, actually causing the skin to produce even more oil to make up for the moisture loss.
3. Protect Your Skin From The Sun's Rays
The third point to remember is to still use your sunscreen! Even as we progress into and through the winter months, the sun can still cause damage to your skin making age spots or freckles more likely to occur.
By making sure you're wearing sunscreen everyday, you can help protect your skin year round. Just so you know some of the worst sunburns I have ever seen happened to people occurred in the winter.
4. Deep Exfoliation Is The Key!
