A Lesson In Chemical Scar Removal

First let me say I hope you've had a great week! I have been receiving some birthday wishes and I greatly appreciate that.

Not that I care to celebrate more of them! grrr... :-)

Following up behind what I shared about laser treatments for acne scarring, I wanted to provide some more "detail" on the options I discussed about reversing skin damage such as discolorations, uneven skin tone and texture, large pores and of course the acne scarring.

As promised, today I am going to go into a little more detail on chemical peels.

Up until recently chemical peels are the most widely used approach to reversing surface skin damage. One has to carefully consider these due to the heightened risk of further damaging the skin, let me explain.

The "Chemical" peel group which include - TCA, Phenol, Blue Acid, are all true acid peels that are applied by a professional in office require at least a week of healing time, and 3 - 4 weeks before the skin in normalized.

They remove up to 5 layers of skin to create a scabby crust that falls off revealing very new skin, much like after a heat related burn.

The risks associated are hyper-pigmentation and lines in-between the newly peeled skin and the old unpeeled skin. There can also be allergic reactions and permanent scarring. These carry a risk of infection as well.

They can remove a good amount of skin and be useful for deep lines and wrinkles, anti-aging, and improving the look of acne scarring. After a time the skin returns to its previous state and then must be repeated. Herein lies the problem.

Chemical peels can cost up to $300 per treatment round, and the effectiveness of the peel on your skin diminishes over time. For many, this precludes them as an option.

This is not the same for a non-chemical peel like the Ginalé Skin Peel, as that kind of process increases results and holds the skin in its optimum renewal state. That is why I know that non-chemical treatments are the future of skin care.

Understanding the risks of chemical peels and the difference between them and the other methods I will be describing should help you make the best choice for yourself.

I always like to give everyone more access to information that you can use today so visit the next link below to get step-by-step information on how to keep your skin healthy, clear, and youthful looking!
